Just Putting It Out There

Just Putting It Out There

Hello everyone!

Hope you’ve had a great week. ??

Summer of sport

The brilliant summer of sport rolls on and now we have the Olympics to watch! ????

Apart from the bizarre and bonkers opening ceremony (though I did perk up when Rafa popped up with the Olympic torch ??) I’ve been loving it.

It’s not just about the sporting achievements, it’s the stories that are created along the way.

Triumph and disaster are just the same. ??

I can’t imagine how it must feel to have 4 years (or longer) of dedication, pain and sacrifice riding on a 1-minute race or routine. ??

The pressure to get everything right just for that one specific moment in time… well, it must just be immense.

And that’s what makes it so compelling and memorable.

Taking a Break

I’ll have more time to watch the second week as I’ve now started my traditional ‘Zoom free August’. ??

I won’t have commitments but I do have a long list of other things I want to do.??Reading some non-fiction books is one as I’ve been reading purely fiction for a few months now.

I've always been a big reader and I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to 'good' writing. I regularly do the Goodreads Reading Challenge and set a target of 52 -??(currently up to 42 for 2024) and yes, that IS a book a week. ??

I do generally achieve it which goes to prove that there really is something about goal setting and accountability that works. ? It’s amazing how much time I can create to read - purely because I set a deliberate intention. ?? So, in the spirit of putting it out there here's the non-fiction books that I'll be reading this month!

I won't be sleeping except on these books

Book List:

Playing Big – Tahra Mohr

Raise Your SQ – Annie Ridout

Fear Hack – Hilary Gallo

The 1% Wellness Experiment – Gabrielle Treanor

DO Interesting – Russell Davies

Write it All Down – Cathy Rentzenbrink

Light is The New Black – Rebecca Campbell

Work It Out – Fiona Thomas

Positively Wealthy – Emma Mumford

In the meantime, do let me know what's on your book list for the summer. ?? ?? I'd love to hear from you!

Have a wonderful week. ??

I used to looooove reading. 3 books at a time! But I’ve not read for the longest time now. I can’t seem to do it anymore. Maybe I’ll use your post as inspiration to read at least one book this summer. ????
