Just Pick 1 Thing!...Your Word of the Year

Instead of making a long list of New Year resolutions and goals, what if you just pick 1 thing to focus on?

I call this your?“Word of the Year.”

It’s the 1 unifying theme for what you want to cultivate more of this year.?Here are some examples:

Peace

Love

Transformation

Fun

Celebration

Joy

Purpose

Intention

Alignment

You might be wondering,?what’s the point??Why pick a word?

Let me give you an example from my own life.?One year, I picked the word?“alignment.”??Nothing that year went as planned.?I mean NOTHING.?But, throughout the year, between a major relationship ending, changing jobs, and moving to a new city, I kept bringing my focus back to my word of the year -?alignment.?Through all the twists and turns, of life looking nothing like I expected, a year when I could’ve lost myself in all the difficulties (and it would’ve been completely understandable!), I was able to keep myself grounded and centered by focusing on my word of the year, knowing that all of these events were happening for my?alignment.??

This is just one example.?I could give you so many other examples from my own life and the lives of my clients of how their word of the year helped them navigate the trials and tribulations of life.?

But, for now, I invite you to pick your word of the year.?There’s no fancy method for picking your word.?I like to say just?go with the first word that comes to you.?That’s your gut instinct, your inner voice, telling you exactly what you need right now.

And then,?write it down.?Somewhere that you’ll?see it everyday.?
