Just Like Marvel Heroes

Here I am, back with a bang!!! Let me start by wishing you and your dear ones a joyous year ahead. Hope you had some “me” time in the last days of 2022. I did spend some time reflecting on certain things about myself both at personal and professional level. Definitely came across some aha moments and some not so aha moments, but it was fun reflecting back and taking some learnings forward from the last year to this year.

One such reflection was on how leadership has evolved over a period of time. It has moved from many types of leadership styles almost latest one being Servant Leadership. Why I said almost because by the time I complete this zine probably a new leadership style would have emerged. So, what was the trigger for my thought on leadership – Marvel Movies / Marvel Heroes.

If you remember when first Marvel Movies came, they were about individual heroes, like Iron Man, Incredible Hulk etc. Later on, the movies became multi-hero like Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy and so on. I could relate these movies to today’s corporate world. How organizations have evolved into multi-hero organizations where you may have multiple CEOs, multiple COOs or CXOs who come with their own uniqueness of knowledge, skills and attitude to achieve a common set of goals.

I call this “Ally Leadership” where all CXOs / Heroes have to come together, recognize each other’s areas of strengths, complement each other when it comes to skills, wear a humble attitude, be authentic and work towards achieving goals Just Like Marvel Heroes!!!

Be the hero, step forward to become a “Ally Leader” take the other leaders along with you and experience success quicker and faster.
