I did it! I launched something I have been building from a DIY standing desk, with scorpios crawling around the house and a stray dog laying under my table. And you are all welcome and belong here!
It has been 5 years of immersing myself of Workplace Culture, Wellbeing and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) topics, 6 months of designing the community space, results and transformation and TODAY is our first official day in the office! ??
Last night over 30 amazing leaders from 14 countries, all invested and engaged in DEI, Workplace Culture and Wellbeing work, showed up to collectively launch a space where all backgrounds, skillsets and stories matter and belong -?Kopa Community! ??
Together we connected in a mindful moment, unpacked the WHYs and HOWs of Kopa and collectively created community manifesto, so that we design a space where we can all show up as our authentic selves, contribute from our unique zone of genius and co-create impactful and meaningful Workplace Cultures and DEI practices.
The WHYs:
Table building. We hear of "bigger and better tables" being built for all of us. Where are they? I haven't seen many popping up... And, the false illusion that we will be able to walk in and start booting people off the tables, also needs to be revised.
At Kopa - we build that damn table together!
Service. I haven't met many DEI, Wellbeing and Workplace Culture leaders who have originally come in this space to get rich and famous or because it seemed like a fun space to be in. This work is a service to the humanity. To the next generation, who we do not want to see going through the same lived experiences.
At Kopa - all those service paradigms meet and compliment each other.
Wellbeing. There is a belief that burnout is a product of exhaustion, when, in fact, the biggest facilitator of burnout is the sense of loneliness. Leaders in this space often mention 'loneliness' as one of the key states they experience, as they lack support, resources and sponsorship to fully lean into this work.?
At Kopa - everything we do is designed with wellbeing at its core.
The HOWs:
12 monthly themes will take us on a meaningful journey to evolve our capability to lean into DEI and Culture Transformation work, while keeping Wellbeing at the heart of it.?

Weekly activities will allow us to ask BIG QUESTIONS, engage in impactful live ROUND TABLE conversations, grow through monthly MASTERCLASSES and co-create insightful material that evolves the collective DEI practice making it more open, inclusive and equitable.?
Sunday Self-Care sessions will give us a moment of stillness and opportunity to refill our cups, learn every day mindfulness skills and allow us to walk into a new week from a space of connect and purpose.?

The Founder of PleaseNotes Cheryl Sutherland will facilitate an interactive and practical session to equip you with the tools of journalling so that you can step into the rest of the year with purpose and clarity.
