Just to be Kind

There is a story behind this image.
The act captured in this quick snap wasn't required, nor was there an obvious opportunity to be kind to another human.?
However, it was done without hesitation by one of the Proximity co-founders and a person I am proud to call a friend.
While driving part of the team back from Denver, Josh Hudnall needed fuel amid a terrible snowstorm/drive. The lines were long, and everyone was stressed. There were cars in ditches and travelers waiting for police, a tow truck, or to just get this terrible drive over with.
As we took our turn at the pump, Josh noticed a young man walking up from a truck down the road that had clearly not made it to the station before running out of gas. This was also our concern for most of the last 30 minutes.?
Josh pulled the handle from the pump, motioned for this young man to come over, and said, "let me fill that up for you."?
It wasn't that he couldn't pay for his fuel as he was holding a credit card. It wasn't that he knew he needed help or even showed that he was in need.?
Josh took the opportunity, no matter his own stress and frustrations, to just give this other human a slight gesture of caring. It was just to be kind.?
I scroll past this picture and still smile at what a gift it is to work next to and experience life with people like Josh. My hope with sharing this is it causes a smile for someone else, and maybe another act of just caring for each other will come out of it.

2 年Thanks for taking the time to share this, Josh. As one who witnessed this moment in the flesh, I can say it really was moving. This motivates me to go and "just be kind" to another human today (and every day). Josh Hudnall, thanks for being a kind human (and for keeping us safe on the roads that day even while Allison Blevins and I were freaking out just a little ?? ).
