Just how screwed will you be?

Just how screwed will you be?

“We are great at moaning about the tide coming in, but so few of us move our deckchairs further up the beach until it’s too late.”

~ Steve Hughes

In a country that is seeing only the very beginning of financial difficulties, with a lot more struggles to come, we should all be doing a lot more to prepare ourselves for our short to mid-term future. South Africans have been lucky. We escaped the 2008 global recession relatively unscathed, so we have an air of naive optimism at a time when we definitely should be a lot more prepared.

Considering the number of people I know that are getting retrenched, closing businesses or unable to get by on the Covid19 adjusted salaries, my heart is breaking and my anxiety is acting like a kitten on 5 double espressos. Factor in the news that the government are starting to clamp down on YOUR money (as of 1 March 2021 your retirement savings will now be held for 3 years after you've emigrated), I think this is a VERY slippery slope for us all.

We should ALL be considering the following questions with serious attention:

Q - Do I have asset protection?

If you face bankruptcy as a result of a collapsed economy, is there a way to protect my assets now?

A - There are options to move our assets into tax-efficient, downside protected structures without paying the huge transfers fees.

Q - Can I protect my money against a collapse of the SA economy (hyperinflation, failing Rand, etc.)?

A - Have you considered a dollar-based, offshore strategy? My PLATINUM EDGE model offers some incredible, and more importantly, AFFORDABLE solutions to starting your offshore expansion.

Q - What is there in place if I lose my job?

A - What is your side-hustle and have you already started it so that it would be up-to-speed in case the worst happened? Warren Buffet said that if you're not earning a passive income then you'll be working until the day you die.

Never sit on your laurels thinking that your job or company is rock-solid. Prepare for the worst, and hope for the best.

It’s strange that we aren’t protecting ourselves more. For all the moaning on social media I see, there are so few people moving their deckchairs further up the beach and if you know enough about the South African economy, and how it mirrors the actions of history’s failed economies, then you’d be doing a lot more, a lot sooner.

I recently added a number of excellent benefits, offers and opportunities to my PLATINUM EDGE service that addresses these questions so I sincerely hope that if you, or anyone that you know is going through difficulties or wanted to ensure that you and your family are PROPERLY protected, then please do give me a call. Don’t miss this boat because it’s more of an Arc than a pleasure cruise.

If I’m wrong, then we can all celebrate. If I’m right, you need to ask yourself if you’re willing to eat soggy sandwiches as you float out to sea on your deckchair.

If you’re smart, then you need to get in touch with me asap. If you need more incentive, then let me end with the good news that the Walt Capital Global fund that I’m now offering has returned 8.8% for the month of July and 29.79% since 1 Feb 2020 (that’s a dollar-based fund so it returned well over 50% in rand terms).

Let’s chat soon.
