Just be honest to inspire others

Just be honest to inspire others

This quote comes from Nelson Mandela, a leader who was loved and respected immensely by people from all over the world. With his grit and perseverance, Mandela went beyond the conventional and brought about a peaceful transition from the white-dominated government to a multiracial democracy. The point I’m trying to make here is to never get bogged down with the impossible because nothing actually is unattainable in this world.

Think bigger - Way bigger than your imagination. To do the impossible, you don’t just have to think outside of the box but even have to break the box and get out of it. Oftentimes we tend to put labels on us that restrict our potential and stops us from doing and achieving great stuff. To quote Bruce Lee, “If you always put limits on what you can do, physical or anything else, it’ll spread into your work, into your morality, in your entire being. There are no limits. There are plateaus, but you must not stay there, you must go beyond them.”

How to be invincible? If you want to do bigger things in life, then operate at that level. Become invincible. Attempt everything that you think you can’t do. Start with getting the simple things right. If you’ve tackled the easiest things right, you’re more than ready to take up the loftier tasks. Take a look at the following things to do great things:

Set unrealistic goals: The super-achievers and ultra-productive people set unrealistic goals instead of real ones. Why? Because they are smart enough to accomplish tasks which are doable but they challenge themselves by setting impossible goals. Even if they fail at it, they would still be above everyone else’s success. Be willing to make sacrifices Do you think Usain Bolt broke those records by just chilling with friends and watching Netflix? Not at all.

He was training day in and day out in scorching heat and enduring extreme weather conditions and worked his tail off. Not even once he took the easy way out, he made sacrifices until he got where he wanted. Never ever back out. The only thing that can take you places is your willingness to put in a relentless effort. Success in life comes when you refuse to give up, with goals so strong that obstacles, failure, and loss only act as motivation.

You will get knocked down and that’s okay. If you fall down seven times, get up eight. Don’t let the courage drop and put up a fight until the last drop of your blood. Encourage others and build them up to perform better. Be there when people ask for help or when you notice that they are down. Show support, listen to them, understand them, encourage them… Don’t let them lose hope. Try to help them shift their perspective on things.

Always be ambitious. Ambition is contagious and showing and applying your ambition can definitely inspire other people. You’ll definitely fire up others and show them and prove that there is a way of doing things and making things happen if you have the right attitude. It is really important for people to have someone they can look up to and admire.

Criticize constructively. If you are trying to let someone know that they are doing something wrong or that their performance is lacking, try to do it with constructive criticism. Don’t put people down, don't bash them, don't attack them. Just let them know politely that they’ll have to change or improve certain things and give specific recommendations.

Build trust with people. Listen carefully to others and what they have to say and prove to them that they can trust you by keeping their secrets. It’s a great skill to have, a lot of people will feel that they can rely on you. It’s a skill that brings you a lot of integrity and respect. Stand up for yourself. Never back down from anyone. Put people in their place when they cross the line. Let them know where they belong and that they can not play with you. Don’t let anybody use anything against you and don't be soft. Stay hard and solid as a rock.

Admit when you make a mistake. Admitting when you’re wrong is a huge plus. It shows honesty and that you are a humble person. It’s always better to be real and not hide things because eventually things will come out to the surface and it will do more harm than good towards yourself and others. Treat others with respect. Showing respect to other people is crucial. One of the most important things in life is how you treat others. Respect opens up a lot of doors in life and gives a huge advantage.

Be cool, calm and collected. Staying firm in the face of challenges and adversity will make you indestructible. Not too many people possess this quality. When you are able to be in control of yourself and not be reactive to what is happening or being said, power and dominance in any situation are guaranteed. Share what inspires and motivates you. Let others know what is giving you inspiration and motivation in life. Is it experiences, books, quotes… Whatever it is, introduce people to some of the things that are making you better.

Acknowledge other's success and contribution. Recognize what others did and give them the respect they deserve. That is a great way of building better relationships and stronger bonds. Stay true to your word. Keep your word and promises and do what you said you’re going to do. Be real as it gets. Challenge your thoughts and opinions. By doing this you’re making room for growth and continuous progress. It allows you to be more open-minded and less judgemental. Have big goals. Have big goals, don't settle for the average. If you fail, at least you’ve tried. Get back up and move on. Be resilient and persistent. Grow from your failures and losses and move towards the next levels and bigger things in life.

Be the example of the things you want to be. Show with your own example what you are after and what you are aiming for. Your deeds speak more than your words. That’s how people learn better when you show and prove with real-life examples. Be the inspiration that you’re aiming to be. Improve your communication skills. By getting better at communication you’ll have a strong impact on everyone around you. In the previous tip, I said that actions speak louder than words, but do not underestimate the power and influence of words. Learning how to communicate can change your world and the world of others and you don't even realize how much. Cheers!
