We specialize in using science in the courtroom. Find us at: kcmetrodefense.com

Hello beautiful people,

Just got back from another week of lab-work in Chicago. It was an honor to work side-by-side with two of the best chemists in the nation: Kevin Anderson and Dr. Preejith Ambuken. We worked directly with Gas and Liquid Chromatography to better understand the finer details of these instruments. For these two men, it was important training because both their respective professions (food science and vision science) demand accurate testing.

So why would a criminal defense attorney need to invest in this kind of training, you ask? First, accuracy matters when the possibility of a jail sentence looms large. Second, investing in exceptional training is what Kansas City has come to expect from us. Third, it's fun.

Whether it is saving a career, a marriage -- or protecting someone from a lengthy prison sentence -- we use our gifts to save people from themselves, and ultimately give them another chance.

Our use of science in the courtroom is second to none and that didn't happen by accident -- we train with the best -- and then we use that training to win. We have been doing this for a long time now. What is new, however, is the number of cases we have been asked to consult on for law enforcement recently. Especially on the issue of chromatography. Some defense attorneys condemn working with (or for) law enforcement -- but we feel it's worthwhile -- especially given how much we have been able to learn from cross-training with law enforcement.

In summary, training with professionals outside the legal community has been a privilege and I want to thank Mr. Anderson, Dr. Ambuken, and our instructor Dr. Polite for sharing their world with me recently. There are already several great training sessions planned for 2022 and beyond, so we look forward to posting those updates soon. Fortunately for us, we will never get to the finish line; there will always be a new ground to cover and new people to learn from along with way.

Have a wonderful Christmas!

P.S. The holidays are stressful, but don't turn to drugs or alcohol to cope. In fact, if you are wrestling with either, please give us a call and we will happily (and confidentially) put pen to paper to get you the help you need (free of charge, of course). Again, take good care.

Greg, this post inspires me to continue seeking opportunities to grow no matter how busy things get. You could easily take your foot off the continuing education ?gas pedal with your already-impressive criminal law science credentials but you’re always seeking ways to get better. Thank you for sharing.
