Just getting started
Wednesday 10/16/19...
Sometimes things move a bit slower than we'd like, but I have officially onboarded my first client and their program launches today! The plan was to get everything started Monday, but hey, stuff comes up and how often do things go according to plan?
We had our kickoff call at 4:30pm yesterday where we reviewed the persona worksheet that I had given him to fill out. There was some really great info in there and it really helped me better understand his products, message, and audience.
There were some questions on the worksheet that are more relevant for my business than they are for his, but that's fine. Every business is different and we need to be able to account for them all.
In fact, as we continue to work together, I'm sure we'll uncover more of these questions. And as I run this workshop with more people, I'll continue to refine the process and questions. But for now, it clearly get's the job done.
The first thing we realized in going through this exercise was that they have multiple products and can sell each to several types of businesses, titles, and more. Once we ran through everything, it was easy to pick out which persona is a top priority.
That provided me more than enough info to get his program launched. It was late in the day by the time we finished our call, otherwise I would have gotten started then. So this afternoon, I'll log into his LinkedIn account, set his Sales Navigator filters, set my initial messages, and run through my list of activities.
Everything we have now is a baseline assumption that will be put to the test this week. Then, well regroup and analyze the data. We can figure out what's working, what's not, and how he feels about how he's being represented. That's a big one as I'm personally representing him on LinkedIn.
All I can do now is get started an let the data roll in. There's no point in making any changes until then. That will get us our next round of assumptions, then it's just rinse, wash, and repeat!
