Just be drunk

The first time I read this poem that was a few days back, I was like which one is this again given that drunkenness is associated with negativity. However, I concluded that analogies works best when you are trying to drive a point home. I also remember how Apostle Paul admonished Christians not to be filled with wine rather the Holy Spirit. It implies that whatever you are filled with pours out of you and is visible to others and that becomes your drive.
Even though to be drunk is often accompanied with disdain and loss of mental control, I believe that this poet was trying to tell us to be full of passion for whatever you are doing or believe in. It is a charge to devout yourself to that purpose, that calling, that interest, perhaps even, that passion. You know, when someone is drunk with wine, he/she becomes a subject for public attention. In the same way, fill yourself up with capacity that puts you at the top on your career, business or field.
One of my favourite thing to say is “whatever is what doing, is worth doing well". That means if you have decided to do something, then full commitment to it should be your watchword.
Today, I encourage you to be drunk with those things that will lift you up. Things that would make you formidable. Do not be drunk with negativity: hatred, aggression, jealousy, such things would only drain.
Ask yourself "What drives me?"
P.S: THIS IS AN ABRIDGED VERSION OF THE POEM.
And don’t get drunk with wine, which is rebellion; instead be filled with the fullness of the Holy Spirit.
