It’s been a wild week my friends. Kamala broke history as she sealed the nomination for President of the United States! We are so fired up by the DNC this week. From Michelle Obama’s fabulous braided ponytail and sleeveless jumpsuit, my favorite Scandal stars Tony Goldwyn (in all his presidential-ness) and Kerry Washington reuniting on the stage to Warnock’s speech calling on all of us to “stand together and heal the land.”
As we stand 73 DAYS away from the 2024 election, there is still so much work to do. Do your homework, have a voting plan, and like our forever first lady, Michelle O said...DO SOMETHING.
ICYMI: Dreaming on Purpose made its debut on August 20th, 2024. To kick things off, I held a book talk about building our careers with intentionality and practical steps we can use for WTF moments at work to catalyze you towards taking the leap. The conversation was hosted on IG Live by Cafe con Libros, an independent Black-owned bookstore in Brooklyn. Here's a message I shared on IG about why I wrote this book.

Around here, we talk a lot about what it means to lead a care-centered career. This approach contradicts everything we’ve ever learned in the professional world because we live in a society that values urgency, validation through professional identity, and profits over people. To reverse this thinking requires a conscious decision to de-program what we originally thought was success so that we can define our own version of it. The path to dreaming on purpose is an intentional one, it is an invitation towards wholeness, to recognize ourselves not as machines who are disposable to corporations and to bring care back into focus.
