The “Just Do You” Entry

The “Just Do You” Entry

I grew up in church.?

?I remember when we would have interactive questions in teens church. It was always the same questions, “When is the right time to start dating?”, “At what age can I start making my own decisions?”, “When should I leave my parents house?”.?

?And every week, the teachers gave specific answers. I believed every word until I grew up and realized one important thing that they all left out; we don’t all have the same timeline.?

?I have seen people that got married at my age and I’ve met people that didn’t start dating till they were much older, but they are all happy.?

?I know people that have their own houses right now and I know people that still live with their parents at 30. They are not unsuccessful, they just made different decisions.?

?The truth is, there is no “step by step” breakdown of life that we all have to follow.?

?In school, it’s easy. Everyone knows that after the first grade is the second, then third, fourth and before you know it, university. But in life, there’s no precise routine.?

?

Everyone’s path is different and the path you take determines where you are at different times.?

?

Learning this has helped me be calmer with myself and allow myself to grow. The truth is we are all different, comparing yourself to someone else would be like comparing a water with sand.?

?

That’s why comparison is so restrictive and frustrating because you are taking yourself out of your element to compare with someone very different. How will you survive outside your element? It’s impossible.?

?

There’s no straight path for us all to follow. Your path depends on your vision and Gods plan for you. Once you know your vision for yourself, you create your own timeline and don’t stick yourself with the timeline of others.?

?

How do you do this?

?

??Find your definition of success: to one person it could be getting a phd, to another it could be earning a certain amount of money. Don’t let other people’s definitions of success dictate what you do. When you know what you want, you can stay on your own lane and get there.

?

When you have your own plan, you won’t need to ask when to do certain things, you will know. It will be easier for you to be happy for others and work on your own thing. You’re never behind when you’re on your own path.

?

Just Do You.?

?

Don’t try to conform to any set standards because there are none. Decide what you want and fly with it. That way no one can pressure you, you can take your time and grow into who you are meant to be.?

?

RANDOM FACT FOR THE WEEK: you already know that your finger prints are unique but do you know that there are other parts of your body that are unique too??
An example is your ear.?
The patterns on your ear are just yours, ni one else can have the same pattern. Although your ear never stops growing, that pattern remains exactly the same. According to Forensic scientists, “It is possible to recognise someone from even a fuzzy picture of their ear with 99.6% accuracy.”
Amazing!?

?

Now imagine that even your ears make you stand out. It just proves that we are all different and have our own paths. Keep doing you.

?

I wish you the very best this week!

?

See you next Sunday!

?

Your trusty growth partner,
