Just Checking In?

You will no doubt be as surprised as I am to discover that it is, in fact, still January!!!
I sometimes think there's only one way to get through this month of perpetual cold and general grimness and it involves a bottle, a corkscrew, and a glass!
But… brighter days are coming. February is just 2 days away and I want to keep looking forwards. So, this week I want to give you some tips on following up on your sales process.
You’ve sent that first email, message or even made a phonecall. They were enthusiastic, wanted to find out more or even said yes I’m in! But since then… crickets!
What Do You Do Next?
It’s so tempting (and easy) to send a generic, “just checking-in” follow-up email. You know the one.
“I’m just checking in to see how you are”
The trouble is?- this typically isn't good enough and gets you no closer to your goal.
So, how do you write a sales follow-up email that does convert?
How do you maintain contact without being pushy? What should you say?
You’re In Luck As I Have Some Ideas For You

Are you available for a 30 minute call on [date and time]? Just let me know what works best for you. I look forward to hearing from you!
Content After An Event or specific topic
Hi [Name],
Last time we chatted, you requested that I get back in touch in ******. I may be a little early, but I though it’d be worth checking-in.
Have you given any additional thoughts on ****l? I’d be happy to do a quick review over the phone and answer any questions.
What does your calendar look like to schedule a conversation?

It Doesn’t End There
Even if you don’t hear anything back after your follow-up email this doesn’t mean that they aren’t interested. We all lead very busy lives and the average amount of touchpoints with a service or company before purchase is now over 11!
You can learn more about the power of the follow-up and get more ideas for your sales processes in my Sales School.
I’d love to tell you more so get in touch.
We will be "Live" brainstorming this over in my Facebook group, in our weekly Business Bonanza at 13:30-14:00 GMT on Tuesday, so if you are a Female Entrepreneur why not check us out -?Keep it Simple Sales (KiSS)

1 年Great suggestions Natalie Carthew! I know I struggle sometimes on what to say, founding the right balance between being pushy or actually following up because you know you have the solution to their problem. I have a tendency to do less than more very often for fear of sounding too pushy, but when you have a solution to a problem they have, you're actually being of service by reaching out again, that's what I play in my head every time I want to follow up!
