Just by Chance, Else Humans could be Ants or Rats!

Just by Chance, Else Humans could be Ants or Rats!

We sleep today but there is 100% chance we may not wake up tomorrow alive. Yet we live with so many plans, so many dreams. So many hopes. Heisenberg died centuries ago. I still remember his uncertainty principle. He got a theory made that you can NOT predict with certainty about the position of a particle in motion and people liked it!! Imagine.. Where we are! Someone says i can NOT do it and and we are happy!

Imagine climbing to the roof of Burz-al-Arab and seeing the ground from there. I am just trying to distance you from the world we live in, take you to a higher altitude so that you can see the world.. detached. What would you see? Lot of light moving on a trail below in an orderly fashion on the tar roads into the distance till your vision turns blurred. Those are lives. Think of ants you see everyday in such trails. They are exactly the same.

Ant-Trail – How Similar to humans!

Ever observed the ants carefully? Take any ant and try to observe what it does. He would have to go from A to B. But he will not go there directly. He will follow the path of the ant in front of him and then at times he will divert. Sometime he will come back after meeting with someone on the way. Then he will talk to someone on the way back and return to his path. Then he will wander off track for a while and then come back to talk to someone else. If you watch that one closely you would feel impatient.. You would feel like picking up the ant and putting it at its end location, near the anthill or someplace round the corner of the wall. But even if you did so, the ant will be lost because the scent or whatever it was attached to or addicted to would not be there.. He would go here and there and then try to locate the scent and talk to other people and then either go back or do whatever! And you would not be there whole day to play transporter to the ants… If you attempted so, you would be so pissed off that you would want to wipe off the entire ant line or blow them off with a puff of breath and go back to your work saying – Idiots!!

You are thinking like God!

Replace every ‘ant’ with humans and you would know what I am referring to. We just have a more complicated trail and a longer one with a longer lifespan that's all. If you were sitting on top of Burz-al-Arab, you would understand half of it. If you were sitting on the Moon and you could see individuals clearly, you would see funny incidents.

There would be people who have invented something called money. That just passes hands. Someone needing something just has to give the other person money and then he would get what he needs. When morning comes, these humans suddenly would get active and hurry to leave off the places they were sleeping last night. They would just move away from those places… on devices which rolled on the paths.. not just walking and running like the ants.. And then people were happy with this movement.. some even boasted about the things they rolled in – Merc, BMW and so on. When it rained, like ants, they would deviate from their paths and go to someplace where they can cling on to something if there were a flood. If there is heavy wind like a puff, they would sit down or grab onto something. When someone was hurt or ailing, others would keep talking to each other like the ants and then a crowd would gather.. Two or three people would carry the wounded guy on their shoulders like the ants!

Complexity in the path are emotions. I, as a layman, could never understand the emotions of ants. Who knows if God is like me, he may not be understand my emotions too. But he does. So I believe people like me can never be god, even to the tiniest of creatures. Forget creatures. I am not even God to the code I write or the products I market.. Because there is so much of uncertainty in everything we do and no one, absolutely no one can guarantee anything..

Observing closely, you would notice these humans wear new dresses and get happy. Some are happier because their dresses are better. Who told them to wear dresses at all? Ants don't wear it – no one does. Humans do and that too they are happy about it. Good for them! They will die the moment there is a spark from my lighter, and they call it the lightning. If I smoke, some smart a**es will tell the others something that they will panic thinking the galaxy is blowing out, there are fumes and there are asteroids!

Such a frail race like the ants. Such a mad race like the rats.

Even God would fail to understand what drives us. God knows that it is all luck. God knows that he can't think about everyone. God knows that I have given them birth and they should decide how they will live. But after that they should not expect me to pick them up and put them at their end-destination all the time right? They have to live to do that. What will they do if I keep picking them up from one location and putting them at the other! They will lose focus and run helter skelter, just like the misplaced ants.

Let us please now come down to ground from the moon and also from Burz-al-Arab. Let's merge within the people. What do we see? We see everyone of us is running and everyone is whining that there is too much of work and they are late for something. Really? Are we really late for anything? Nothing. We have time. At least we HOPE we have time.

We are alive by chance. We will die by chance. Whatever happens is by chance.

You met your spouse by chance only right? Someone tells you – you should study well to do well – BS! Startups are created by dropouts right? Someone tells you B should come after A, F should come after E while you are learning English alphabets. Again BS. How would you have studied or behaved to meet your spouse? Chance boss.. Chance. ‘Chanceless’ – South style – does not happen!

But of course, we can't leave everything to chance. For a civilization to move ahead, there has to be something that drives them forward. Money is definitely not that thing. Money is actually the means.. but that is not the end. The end thing.. the thing which drives humans has to make them to live and look forward to. For that, our ancient teachers gave us the feeling of hope. That you do your work, perfectly and then hope. Bhagwad Gita says it and all other scriptures in different religions say it. Why? Because everything is chance but this hope only will give you the direction and the much needed motivation to proceed further, to move ahead in life. People say they will be motivated when they know the future so that they know they are in the right track! Bullshit! If you know you are going to die – you will start dying from today!

The beauty is in the uncertainty. The beauty is in knowing that there are 1000 ways in which you will fail and yet you hope to succeed.

What do you think?

Thinking something in mind and crafting it to the paper (writing platforms) are different, yet a beautiful effort that makes others to get connected with the writer's philosophy. Seriously, a nice piece.. :) Thanks

Very thought provoking. Thank you. The article is well written and generally holds a clear thought flow. In one point, the thought process weakens and starts rambling (from the paragraph that starts with "Even God would fail to understand what drives us" until "Chanceless’ – South style – does not happen!"). Perhaps you want to tighten that part a bit. Thanks again.
