Jura 1984 campaign in the Creative Review 2015 Annual
Great to see our work on Jura 1984 included in the Creative Review 2015 Annual, following it's win in the Creative Pool book as People's Choice. It was a great project to work with the client on, challenging perceptions of what the luxury whisky category can look like.
The dystopian classic '1984' was written on the island by Orwell and to celebrate the dates 30th anniversary, Jura released a 30 year old malt limited to just 1,984 bottles. The idea of censorship encompassed pack, PR, digital and social media. The outer case was die-cut like redacted text to reveal only selected words from the screen-printed bottle underneath. The result was two texts with very different meanings: the outer dark and menacing, the inner bottle hopeful and poetic
It was also hugely challenging technically and a real labour of love from all involved.
