Junior Food Technologist (Paused)

Michroma is looking for a proactive Junior Food Technologist to join the team in Rosario, Argentina. We are looking for someone for the R&D team with process optimization orientation and analytical skills.

About the team

Michroma is a biotech/ food tech platform producing natural ingredients in a sustainable, scalable, and cost-effective way. We are using synthetic biology to unleash the potential of filamentous fungi and develop proprietary strains capable of producing high-performance ingredients in bioreactors.

Desirable experience

• 1+ year working on R&D/ Product development.
• Continuous improvement/ Process optimization oriented.
• Shelf life/ stability studies.
• Food product/ raw material analysis.
• (Optional) Gastronomy/ culinary experience in food prototype development will be desired.?

Responsibilities

• Reporting to the Lead Product Development, working together on taking new ingredients to market.
• Reading papers.
• Performing stability, characterization analysis, sensorial, and shelf life analysis to raw materials and finished products.
• Run and suggest improvements to our current downstream processing protocol.
• Prototype our ingredients on different food matrices and analyze their stability after exposure to the most common food processing conditions.

Skills

• Degree in Food Science/ Engineering, Chemistry/ Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical R&D.
• Desire to be part of a results-oriented, collaborative, fun, and values-driven team.
• Highly scrappy: capable of working in a fast-paced, rapidly growing, ever-changing technology company.
• Mission-driven, resourceful, team-oriented, and low-ego with a positive attitude.
• B2 level English.
