June's Taurex Team Talks features Vanessa Sarmiento
In our fifth interview of the “Taurex Team Talks”, we had the opportunity to speak with Vanessa Sarmiento about her role as the Regional Marketing Manager. Vanessa shared insights into her responsibilities at Taurex and offered valuable advice for those aspiring to build a career in Marketing in the Trading Industry.

Hi Vanessa! You’ve been at Taurex for some time now. Can you tell us a little bit about your role and responsibilities? What do you do on a daily basis?
As a Regional Marketing Manager at Taurex, my primary responsibility is to oversee and execute our marketing strategies across the LATAM region. This includes everything from planning and implementing campaigns to analyzing their performance and making data-driven decisions to optimize our efforts.
On a daily basis, I collaborate with the global marketing team to align our strategy, ensuring we effectively communicate the core of the business in each region, while contributing to Taurex's success. I also support sales team initiatives; I engage with our partners to enhance our brand presence and I keep a close eye on market trends and competitor activities to ensure we stay ahead in the industry.
What do you enjoy most about working in digital marketing, especially in the LATAM region?
What I enjoy most about being involved in digital marketing at Taurex is being able to participate, contribute, and learn from the great team behind the scenes working to create campaigns that resonate with all our local audiences. Achieving a meaningful impact with our work is incredibly fulfilling! The LATAM region is experiencing significant growth within the financial industry, presenting numerous opportunities for innovation and expansion and I find it exciting to be part of this growth. We've navigated through advertising challenges on different platforms, which are inherent in our industry. However, finding innovative ways to overcome these hurdles keeps our work dynamic and engaging.
How do you ensure that your marketing strategies are effective and reach the right audience?
The success of our marketing campaigns is the result of many departments' teamwork. To ensure that a marketing strategy is effective, I rely on a data-driven approach by closely monitoring key metrics. Our web team plays a crucial role in this, focusing on optimizing our landing pages for performance and conversion, and continuously improving the site's functionality and user experience.
At times, we also conduct A/B testing on various elements of our campaigns from ad copy to visuals, this helps us determine what resonates best with our audience and refine our approach based on evidence. This evidence is possible by a content team that excels in crafting compelling copies that engage and convert, and a design team that transforms ideas into visually stunning creatives.
How do you make sure that Taurex's message and brand are well-received by people in different countries within LATAM?
To ensure that Taurex's message and brand are well-received by people, I focus on conducting thorough research to understand the unique cultural nuances of each country within LATAM, this means adapting our message to the local language in a way that maintains its original intent, tone, and context. I gather and analyze data about consumer behaviour, preferences, and trends and work with local influencers and industry partners who help us reach our target audience more effectively.
How do you balance creativity and data when planning your marketing strategies?
Creativity should be guided and informed by data. Setting clear and measurable goals for each campaign helps balance these two aspects. While creativity is essential for capturing our audience's attention, data allows us to measure the effectiveness of our creative efforts. I believe that each campaign is a learning opportunity, as analyzing performance data gives us insights that help us make more informed creative decisions in the future.
What advice would you give to someone aspiring to build a career in marketing within the trading industry?
My advice would be to always cultivate that passion for marketing. This will not only make the journey more enjoyable but also easier to navigate, especially when facing challenges. The trading industry is dynamic and competitive, so staying curious and adaptable is crucial. Building a career in marketing within the financial industry presents a great opportunity to learn from experienced professionals, stay updated with sector trends, and experiment with new strategies to enhance our knowledge and step out of our comfort zone. Ultimately, isn't that what life is about? Being happy doing what we love, embracing challenges, and seizing every opportunity!
