June - VixulCon And Planning
Welcome to Vixul's first newsletter. We will use this newsletter to give you a monthly summary of the happenings at Vixul.
Accelerator Updates
This May we just finished our second cohort. We took a more prescriptive approach with many hands on workshops. These provided more direction, kept us true to our ethos of doing rather than debating, and built a baseline for our portfolio companies to start iterating.
We have decided that the cohort size of around 5 companies is the right balance between gaining multiple data points and intimate relationships to make sure we are best prepared to help our portfolio companies. We will be iterating around this number as we refine the value proposition for Vixul and better understand how to help the founders with their needs.
We are closing on our cohort a23-2. We received a surplus of applications and are filtering and deciding who to include in the upcoming cohort. Thank you to everyone that applied. We will publish the list of companies in the July-August timeframe after going through legal.
VixulCon 2023
It started off as a plan to get the portfolio companies to actually meet in person. However, we decided to take advantage of the opportunity this presented and decided to hold the inaugural VixulCon 2023. We are packed and looking forward to this meeting of experts in technology services companies. Stay tuned for more information about the highlights from VixulCon for those that won't attend. Please let us know in the comments if you want a cutest goat interaction contest.
Monthly Focus
For the month of May we had a focus on marketing. You can see the content we provided around improving your outreach here. Over the month of May we talked about the various tactics services companies can use and provided quite detailed guides on how to do them.
In June we're going to talk about proper planning with decisions backed with data. Your lead generation activities or any other part of execution is only effectiveif coupled with proper planning. This month expect discussions on the different metrics we need to measure and why they are important, the operational muscles that organizations need to build, the forecasts we need to make and how to make them. We've already set the stage for this conversation with our post "Guard Against Down Quarters: Why Managing Sales Pipelines Is Critical For Tech Services Founders" so follow us on LinkedIn to make sure you don't miss out.
