June update

As we head towards the longest day it seems that summer is finally in full swing. We hope you are enjoying some air conditioning, wherever you are!

At the end of May we ran our annual Homelessness conference, this time back in person, in Birmingham. As a key area of focus for Chambers, we were pleased to welcome participants for what proved to be a really productive day. The feedback we have received has been superb - watch this space for more events and briefings.

Around Chambers we've been busy contributing articles, including the following:

Rowena Wisniewska ?has contributed to the 2023?The Law Society's Report on Blockchain Legal & Regulatory Guidance, Third Edition. You can see the report here. Rowena has also has written an article for?LexisNexis UK?entitled "Upper Tribunal dismisses privacy applications (Kingsbridge Capital Advisers Ltd v FCA)". Read that in full here.

Imogen Sadler?has written an article for the?Association of Electoral Administrators?for their quarterly magazine summer 2023 edition on withdrawing election petitions - you can read the full article here.

Annette Cafferkey has written an in depth breakdown of the Renters Reform Bill 2023 which is proving to be a popular resource. If you missed it, you can see the full report here.

People News

This month we welcome Thomas Walsh to Chambers. Thomas specialises in housing, property, public, regulatory and commercial disputes.

Alexander Bunzl and Kaykay Marivate have accepted offers of tenancy with us after completion of their probationary tenancies.

We are also delighted to welcome back Ayesha Omar after maternity leave. Ayesha will continue to build her property practice with a particular focus on residential and commercial landlord and tenant disputes.

Coming up

We still have a few places left for our Mediation Masterclass on the 5th July. We have planned lots of interactive elements and opportunities for debate and networking. We would encourage solicitors at any level to register - our panel of speakers between them cover all areas of commercial and civil mediation so attendees are promised an excellent overview. You can book your tickets here. with a special discount code MEDIATE10 for the GIST readers.

And finally

You may have seen our team out and about at the London Legal Walk last week. The walk is the biggest fundraising event in aid of free legal advice and support for everything from Law Centres and Citizens Advice services to refugee specialist support services. Thank you to all who supported us and don't forget there's still time to donate here.
