?Beware of these additional state-specific requirements:?

• Pharmacists: If you are authorized to administer vaccines or related emergency medications, you are required to complete 1 hour of ACPE-approved CE specific to this topic every two years. Additionally, pharmacists authorized to dispense opioid overdose medications need 1 hour specific to opioid overdose meds. Those engaged in compounding are encouraged to complete courses related to the science and regulation of compounding every two years.?

• Technicians: If you are administering immunizations, you need 1 hour of ACPE-approved CE as well.??

Indiana Pharmacists and Technicians?

Beware of these additional state-specific requirements:?

• Pharmacists: You need at least 30 hours of ACPE-approved CE every 2 years, with at least 24 hours of CE directly pharmacy-related (non-management). A maximum of six hours can be business, management, or computer related. CE related to tobacco cessation counseling is required every two years when dispensing cessation products. Newly licensed pharmacists need not complete any hours if licensed for less than six months in the biennium. If licensed for more than six months, then you must complete 1.25 hours per month.?

Iowa Pharmacists (excluding new pharmacists on their first renewal period)?

Beware of these additional state-specific requirements:?

• Pharmacists who qualify as mandatory child or dependent adult abuse reporters must complete 2 hours of training provided by the Iowa Department of Human Services every three years (for each child and adult, if applicable). 15 CE hours must be ACPE-approved as drug therapy, 2 hours must be pharmacy law, 1 hour on immunizations (if immunizing), and 2 hours with patient or medication safety.?

Kansas Pharmacists?

• Requirements are biennial depending on the licensure date.??

• Pharmacy technicians who participate in medication compounding practices must complete at least 1 hour of continuing education related to sterile drug preparation, dispensing, and utilization each year.??

Montana Pharmacists and Technicians?

Beware of these additional state-specific requirements:?

• Pharmacists: For each renewal period, you are required to obtain either: 15 CE hours with 5 hours obtained in an approved live program or 20 CE hours if you do not take at least 5 hours in an approved live program. Pharmacists renewing as new graduates are exempt from this requirement. An additional 15 hours may be accumulated and applied to the following licensing year.?

Oregon Technicians?

Beware of these additional state-specific requirements:?

• Pharmacy technicians need 2 hours of law, 2 hours of patient safety or medication error, and 2 hours of cultural competency either approved by the Oregon Health Authority under ORS 413.450 or any cultural competency effective July 1, 2023.?

• Certified Oregon Pharmacy Technicians or Pharmacy Technicians applying for the first renewal of their license, if they have not been licensed by the board for at least one year prior to July 1 of the renewal period, only need to complete cultural competency as required by (1)(c).?

Rhode Island Pharmacists and Technicians?

Beware of these additional state-specific requirements:?

• Pharmacists: 1 hour of law, 1 hour of immunization (if immunizing), and 5 additional hours of board-approved collaborative practice areas (if practicing in this area). CE hours are per calendar year, not by license dates.?

• Technicians: Every person licensed as a Pharmacy Technician in this state must obtain an eProfile number from the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy to renew their license. Satisfactorily complete at least ten hours of continuing education courses, sponsored by a recognized provider between January 1st and December 31st of each year.??

South Carolina Technicians?

Beware of these additional state-specific requirements:?

• Pharmacy Technicians may take continuing education credits that are designated for Pharmacists or technicians. Excess credits may carry over for one year only. Pharmacy Technicians are exempt from continuing education requirements while enrolled in a pharmacy technician program, as well as during the first renewal period following successful completion of the program.??

West Virginia Pharmacists and Technicians?

Beware of these additional state-specific requirements:?

• Pharmacists: You need 2 hours of WV-approved Drug Diversion; 2 hours annually of continuing education related to immunizations if holding an immunization permit.?

• Pharmacy Consultants must register with the board each year and are required to complete 15 hours, all of which may be completed by home study. A minimum of 3 hours must be in consulting practice education each year.?

• Technicians: You need 2 hours of continuing education related to immunizations each licensing renewal period.??
