Defense Innovation Unit Image

We have won a contract from the U.S. Department of Defense, specifically the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU), for the development of a handheld device called 'EXHALE' that can detect respiratory infectious diseases through breath analysis. The goal is to provide a portable and non-invasive diagnostic solution for war fighters in remote environments where access to medical facilities is limited. This contract win is a testament to our commitment to advancing medical research and technology. Read the official announcement on our website.

Owlstone Features in Microbiome Times

In May, our groundbreaking work on exhaled breath analysis and its potential in microbiome research was featured in the Microbiome Times. The article authored by Dr. Madeleine Ball, highlights the significance of the microbiome in health and disease as well as, an exploration of the untapped potential of breath as a rich source of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) originating from the microbiome. Breath analysis offers advantages over traditional methods, allowing for location-specific and real-time monitoring of metabolic processes. You can read more about the feature and find links to the full article on our website.
