That leaves you with 24 days to get your free on-demand ticket, and read, watch, listen, and connect with the people and projects of MozFest 2022. Here is a list of topical watchlists to get you started:
This Month’s Fringe Events
These events are free with an On-Demand MozFest ticket and ready for you to engage:
??????June 23?| Rhizome of Babel – The Rhizome of Babel is an interactive digital project created by Kosisochukwu Nnebe, in collaboration with Lucas LaRochelle, that re-examines the biblical tale of the Tower of Babel from an anti-imperialist and ecological perspective. The final product will be an interactive audio-visual environment in Mozilla Hubs (with spatialized audio) that envisions the abundance and diversity of human languages – an ecosystem in its own right – as an alternative vision of prosperity that privileges biodiversity over monoculture, opacity over transparency, relationality over hierarchy.
??????Week of June 20 | Movement Building From Home 2?– You’re invited to join the MozFest community for Movement Building from Home 2, a new series of community calls focused on facilitative leadership that will help you sustain the momentum for your project-based work, professional development, and participation in MozFest.
?????June 21 | Dialogues & Debates: Queerness is in multitude – Technology further codifies biases and categorizes personhood, not simply a reflection of the society that creates it but possibly an imperfect and flawed mirror of it. That has resulted in software and AI systems that are at odds with fluidity, that endanger the privacy and security of the LGBTQIA+ community, and often inferrs heteronormative assumptions and forces binary gender classifications. How does the queer community change this technology landscape? And what does it mean to queer the landscape, coopt these systems, and create safe, online spaces? And accordingly, how has technology made a global LGBTQIA+ movement possible?
??????June 23 & 24 | Building Long-term Momentum Post MozFest – for Participants and Facilitators who want to explore ways to build off of their MozFest Session to support long term goals.
