Carson Higgins Memorial Scholarship Recipients
On May 20, the CarsonStrong Foundation awarded the Carson Higgins Memorial Scholarship to 7 students from Revere High School. This scholarship, established in 2018, aims to support students who embody Carson’s values and compassion by providing financial assistance for their future pursuits.
We are pleased to announce the recipients of the 2024 scholarship: Jeffery Boyle, Joab Bocktoce, Sheza Qasim, Andrew Long, Frederick John Mealy, Shane Yankovitz, and Grace Clarke. Each student received $500 in recognition of their exceptional written applications, which demonstrated their alignment with Carson's values and their dedication to upholding his philanthropic legacy after graduation.
Shane Yankovitz wrote, "Receiving the Carson Higgins Memorial Scholarship is truly an honor. Carson always carried such a positive outlook, and I try to embody that in my own personal life. Hopefully, it will allow me to leave a meaningful impact on the people I meet throughout my life. Thank you to the Carson Strong Foundation for all that they do!"
Congratulations again to the winners!
Sam Strong Benefit Dinner
In 2023, our first Gift of Time Together family went on their trip to Florida. Unfortunately, just a couple of days after returning, 16-year-old Sam Eaton lost his battle with Metastatic Ewing's Sarcoma. Sam’s story has been shared countless times, and he holds a special place in our Gift of Time Together program. In honor of his life and the legacy he left behind, Sam’s mother collaborated with his dance studio to organize a benefit dinner. The proceeds from this meaningful event were equally divided between the IRBD Sam Eaton Memorial Scholarship and the CarsonStrong Foundation.
The evening was incredibly beautiful and touching as members of the Foundation came together for a heartwarming meal and a moving performance from Sam’s dance studio. Additionally, Sam’s mother, Kristina, performed a special tap dance in loving memory of him.
We feel privileged to be a part of Sam’s story, and we hold him dear in our hearts. The funds raised from this dinner will enable us to continue providing families affected by cancer with precious time together.

Who We Are
Founded in 2017, the CarsonStrong Foundation is committed to improving the lives of children and families impacted by cancer and other significant life challenges.
Carson Gene Higgins courageously faced neuroblastoma, a childhood cancer that affects the body’s nervous system. While Carson’s life was short, it was rich with faith, hope, love, and strength. His examples of kindness and generosity encourage us to live and love richly, to take each day as a gift, and to give generously.
Together, we can bring hope to other families facing difficult and sometimes devastating life challenges.
