June Newsletter: Celebrating Community, Learning, and Volunteerism
Hello friends!
This June, we are thrilled to celebrate Refugee Week 2024 in the UK from June 17th to 23rd. This week is dedicated to recognising the resilience, creativity, and contributions of refugees. The theme for this year, "Compassion," encourages us all to connect, learn, and support each other through a variety of community events, storytelling, and artistic endeavours. It’s a fantastic opportunity for everyone to come together, share stories, and build a more inclusive society. We hope you'll join us in celebrating the strength and spirit of refugees and spreading compassion in our communities.
In addition to Refugee Week, we're excited to announce "Urban design by refugees" a special conference at the Gallery, London. Professor Husam Al-Waer will be sharing his insights on the Al Za’atari camp in Jordan, one of the world's largest refugee camps. His expertise and firsthand experience with the challenges and innovations in refugee settlements are sure to be both enlightening and inspiring. This conference is a must-attend for anyone interested in understanding more about refugee issues and the innovative solutions being implemented to improve the lives of those in the camps.
Finally, we want to give a huge shout-out to our amazing volunteers during the Week of Volunteers. Your dedication and support have been incredible, and we couldn't do what we do without you. From organizing events to providing essential services, your hard work makes a significant difference in the lives of refugees and helps us fulfill our mission. Thank you for your unwavering commitment and enthusiasm. Let’s continue to work together to create a more compassionate and inclusive world.
