Empowering Project Management Community in Uganda: National Project Management Conference Highlights

Over the month of June, we had a wonderful opportunity to support the Project Management Institute Uganda Chapter in their National Project Management Conference 2024 which took place on 7th June 2024.

Held at the luxurious Sheraton Hotels & Resorts in Kampala, this event marked a significant milestone, celebrating '10 Years of Collaboration for Project Success'. The conference served as a melting pot of ideas, bringing together key stakeholders to discuss advancements in project management and chart the future course of the profession in Uganda.

During the Conference at the Sheraton Kampala Hotel. Our Country Lead, Mr. Ronald K SSekajja PMI_PMP?, PBA?, ACP? Prince2?, COBIT,TOGAF MBA MIT contributed significantly during a panel discussion on 'Incorporating the PMP Success Story into the Labour Market,' emphasizing the value of globally recognized certifications like PMP. Such certifications do not only build up on professional careers of project managers and project teams but largely help organizations and businesses to deliver value and meet their objectives.

Remembering Malawi: A Solemn Tribute

June 11th marked a tragic day for Malawi, and we at HEBO Consult join the nation in mourning. We pay our deepest respects to Vice President Rt Hon Dr Saulos Chilima and the nine other victims of the plane crash. This sad event reminds us of the fragility of life and the importance of unity in times of national grief. Our thoughts and prayers remain with the families and loved ones affected by this tragedy.

Empowering Youth: Project Management Session at Tengeru Institute of Community Development (TICD).

In our ongoing effort to nurture the next generation of project management professionals, we were able to facilitate an inspiring and thought-provoking project management session for students and graduates at Tengeru Institute of Community Development (TICD) . This initiative aimed to equip young professionals with essential project management skills, enhancing their competitiveness in the current job market. The session explored global project management standards and practices, focusing on tools and skills used to effectively coordinate various aspects of projects, particularly in gender-based, social, and community-based contexts.

HEBO Consult supports ISACA Tanzania Chapter in Building Digital Trust at ISACA Tanzania Chapter Annual Conference 2024

Towards the end of June, our team at HEBO Consult was part of a week-long ISACA Tanzania Chapter 2024 Annual conference which took place in Arusha, Tanzania from 24th to 28th July.

As one of the sponsors in this conference, we were proud to support the promotion of digital trust among organizations and businesses in Tanzania. Through global standards and best practices, our certification programs such as project management, business analysis, risk management, and agile transformations help to revolutionize digital projects across the ICT sector.

In an era where digital transformation is reshaping industries, building and maintaining digital trust has never been more crucial. This conference brought together thought leaders, industry experts, and innovative professionals to address key challenges and opportunities in the field.

Martin Hekeno , Director of Consulting at HEBO Consult facilitated a wonderful presentation during the 3rd day of the conference with the topic “Embracing Resilience and Adaptability for Delivery of Sustainable Value in Projects”, where he highlighted the connection between project resilience and adaptability in implementing digital trust for modern businesses and organizations adopting technology emphasizing on applying agility in business practices. It was quite an interesting session followed up by engaging discussions on agile practices navigating through the challenges of adoption among organizations, and its effect on the overall delivery of projects.

Our participation aimed to help professionals and organizations acquire the necessary skillsets and tools to implement innovations and deliver sustainable solutions in the industry.

HEBO Consult at the 1st Contractors and Service Providers Associates Conference of 2024

We are proud to have collaborated with Tanzania United Contractors and Allied Services Association (TUCASA) and participated in their first Contractors and Service Providers Associates Conference of 2024 on the 27th - 28th July with the theme National Builders and Citizen, Local Contractors. Attended by Hon Dr. Doto Biteko, Deputy Prime Minister of the United Republic of Tanzania, and Hon Innocent L. Bashungwa (Bash) , Minister of Defence and National Service of the United Republic of Tanzania, this conference held insightful discussions aiming towards the development of infrastructure in our country while supporting and empowering local contractors and service providers.

As a leading training provider, we continuously work with associations like #TUCASA in building capacity, developing skills, and implementing global and standard practices of managing projects while adapting to local contexts.
