June Jazz at Melrose Center

June Jazz at Melrose Center

Eating disorders -- such as anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating disorder – include extreme emotions, attitudes, and behaviors surrounding weight and food issues. Eating disorders are serious emotional and physical problems that can have life-threatening consequences for females and males. In addition, eating disorders have the highest mortality rate of any mental disorder and 30 million Americans will suffer from an eating disorder at some point in their life.  As a national leader in Eating Disorder care, Melrose Center is dedicated to improving the quality of life for people touched by this disease through comprehensive assessment, treatment, support, education and research.

But many vital patient programs and services are not covered by medical insurance. That’s why business and community partners are coming together to support June Jazz at Melrose Center.  The evening will showcase acclaimed jazz vocalist and Twin Cities resident Connie Evingson.

Connie is known for exploring varied musical paths. Her recorded catalog of acclaimed CD’s ranging from jazz and Broadway standards to the music of Peggy Lee, the Beatles, Dave Frishberg, bossa nova, gypsy jazz and more reflects an adventurous spirit that knows no boundaries. The featured artist of the Jazz at the Jungle concert series, Connie also appears regularly at the Woman’s Club in Minneapolis and various Twin Cities venues. She is a two-time recipient of both
the McKnight Fellowship for Performing Musicians and the Minnesota State Arts Board Artist Initiative Grant.

I invite you to join us at this fun and important event to be held on June 27th. It’s a great opportunity to have some fun while you connect with Park Nicollet, Melrose Center and community business leaders – all while we raise money to help people recover.
