One of the big news stories this week was?United?trimming around 50 flights per day from its Newark (EWR) hub. JetBlue took more cuts to its fall and winter schedules this week as well. They will temporarily be exiting Albuquerque (ABQ), Portland (PDX), and San Jose (SJC) in late fall and resuming service in February and March 2023.
We expect to see Breeze make capacity cuts in the coming week as they are having pilot staffing shortages due to delays in their training pipeline.
This week American announced another station exit, Dubuque, IA (DBQ). They also filed the station exits for Islip (ISP), Ithaca (ITH), and Toledo (TOL) that were announced last week. This now brings the total number of station exits by the big three legacy airlines to 49, since the pandemic began. Reach out if you would like the stations in list form.
