Digital Activism

Last week, young Kenyans took to social media to organise and lead protests against a proposed finance bill from the government. Here is a hashtag analytics report of #RejectFinanceBill2024 and #OccupyParliament by Nendo for last week's protests

Digital activism that we have never witnessed!

If you were still doubting the impact of social media on social media activism just look at the numbers. If you were doubting if indeed the GenZ are leading and are part of this revolution, check their favourite social media platform; TikTok numbers.

Also, you will notice lots of videos on "GRWM as I go for protests" on the app. GRWM stands for Get Ready With Me

Millennials are also at the forefront as the baby boomers raise their eyebrows and shake their heads in disbelief at this revolution.

Professionals, employed and unemployed are all in this and feeling the pinch of what's happening in Kenya. If not on the streets they are pushing the conversation online

The hashtag attracted global attention

Let the people's voices be heard. We are the ones who will change this country.

And if you don't know what The bill entails, a brilliant Kenya, Kelvin Ndemo came up with Finance Bill GPT on ChatGPT that you can ask about the Finance bill details
