June 23 - BPIA Members attend Sister Cities International’s “International Day of Women in Diplomacy” Celebration on Embassy Row

On June 23, BPIA Members attended an elegant celebration commemorating the “2024 International Day of Women in Diplomacy”? hosted by Sister Cities International under host committee Christine Warnke, Carole Feld, and David Levy. The private affair honored special guests Ukrainian Ambassador to the US H.E. Osanka Markarov and President of the Athens Chamber of Commerce, Sophia Kounenaki-Efraimoglou. Guests in attendance included Ambassadors, dignitaries, and members of the Arts community including H.E. Robie Kakonge, Ambassador of the Republic of Uganda to the U.S., H.E. Fatoumata Sidibe Kaba, Ambassador from the Republic of Guinea to the U.S., and Mrs. Tran Thi Bich Van, Wife of the Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the U.S.?

BPIA President Alexandria J. Maloney served as the Mistress of Ceremony of the program who read the robust accomplishments of the guests of honor. DC Director of Sister Cities International, Christine Warnke presented the honorees with a proclamation from DC Mayor Muriel Bowser.?

Eisenhower in 1956, Sister Cities International is a nonpartisan 501(c)(3) nonprofit which serves as the national membership organization for individual sister cities, counties, and states across the United States.
