June 2024: World Environment Month, Generative AI Learning Program, The Impact Series, and More!

June is a fascinating month of transition. As the rain clouds gather, signaling the onset of the monsoon season in many parts of the country, it also marks a fresh beginning for students embarking on a new school year. For children, this time brims with excitement and anticipation as they reunite with friends, meet their new teachers, take in the smell and feel of fresh books and stationery, and dive into new subjects. For parents, life finally returns to normalcy after having the kids around the house for a couple of months (parents, you know the struggle is real! ??). The contrast between the refreshing rains, especially after one of the hottest summers in history, and the bustling energy of school kids splashing puddles in their rain gear on their way back from school, is just one of the many things that makes this month special.

Back in the office, we recently launched The Impact Series, an internal knowledge-sharing event aimed at highlighting the outstanding work carried out by teams in India and APAC as a whole, while fostering collaboration across the region. In our inaugural session, Rakesh Narayanan provided insights into how various teams from across locations are collaborating to deliver significant value for customers such as Virgin Australia and Air India. We also kicked-off the Generative AI Learning Program at Bengaluru GCC in collaboration with Google Cloud . This two-month ‘learn and apply’ program involves self-paced courses at foundational and practitioner levels, where participants can understand and apply Gen AI concepts to Sabre use-cases, while adhering to best practices outlined by Google. The trainers from Google will also conduct an in-office, full-day practitioners bootcamp to help participants apply their knowledge to industry use-cases. Participants who reach the mini-project stage will have the opportunity to work on curated Sabre use-cases, with the goal to make them production-ready.

As part of the World Environment Month celebrations at Sabre, the Sustainability CoP in Bengaluru GCC organized an inspiring event promoting Sabre’s sustainability initiatives. During the event, leaders shared insights on ESG, reinforced our commitment to sustainability, and featured a skit on critical environmental themes, which captured our dedication to sustainability quite aptly. The Ascenders Bengaluru Chapter, an Employee Resource Group (ERG) at Sabre, recently collaborated with Bangalore Medical Services Trust (BMST) to conduct a successful blood donation camp at the office. Over 100 team members participated in the drive, demonstrating their commitment to saving lives through this simple yet impactful act of selflessness.

Volunteers generously donating blood at the blood donation camp.
