Recently joined TIPC Associate Members?
We are delighted to announce that a number of organisations have recently formally joined TIPC as Associate Members. These organisations are the National Research Fund of Kenya, the National Commission for Science and Technology of Malawi, the Human Resource Development Council of Botswana, the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Government of Catalonia and the Austrian Institute of Technology. Each organisation brings in their own are of experimentation.?
Implementation of Transformative Missions in Panama
TIPC and Panama’s National Secretariat of Science, Technology and Innovation (SENACYT) are collaborating to design and implement four transformative missions within the areas of climate change, food and agriculture, health and logistics. Gilberto Gómez, SENACYT’s Follow-up Secretary, visited the Science Policy Research Unit (SPRU) at the University of Sussex Business School and shared insights about our collaboration.
Vinnova funds new Swedish platform for System Innovation Research in Interaction (SIRI)
TIPC core member Vinnova, Sweden’s innovation agency, has funded a new Swedish platform for System Innovation Research in Interaction (SIRI). SIRI aims to synthesise knowledge and build competencies related to the transformation towards greener and more inclusive economies and societies. It connects researchers, policymakers, and practitioners interested in the design and implementation of transformative innovation policies.??

A journey through TIPC’s milestones with Bipashyee Ghosh
Bipashyee Ghosh has been part of TIPC’s journey from the very beginning. Starting her academic career as a PhD student with TIPC’s founder and academic director Professor Johan Schot, she joined the lead up to the launch of the consortium and has been a core member of the team ever since. With TIPC entering a new phase, focussed on adoption and scaling, and with Bipashyee starting a new role with UCL (University College London), we asked her to reflect upon her path with TIPC up until this point, including key milestones and learnings, challenges and achievements and a look ahead to TIPC’s future, in this blog post.?

Policy tool of the month: Systemic Change Game
The Systemic Change Game is an immersive and playful online board game aimed at strengthening players understanding of socio-technical systems and how to enable change in a local system. As part of the game, players take on the role of one of five ‘transition actors’ who all want to change a socio-technical system but have other underlying motivations as well. All actors need to collaborate in order to overcome make transformative change happen.
This tool has been inspired by and adapted from the X-curve tool developed by the EIT Climate KIC Visual toolbox for System Innovation. Learn how to play by reading the instructions on the MIRO canvas or by watching this tutorial.??
PUBLICATION HIGHLIGHTS
Antimicrobial Resistance in Kenya?
The East African Medical Journal has published three new articles by the Transformative Innovation Africa Hub (TIAH) which examine the critical issue of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in Kenya. The publications detail the implementation of AMS initiatives in selected Kenyan hospitals, using a combined approach of Transformative Innovation Policy (TIP) research and Basic Science research.?
