June 2024 Round-up
Today is the last day of Small Charity Week and I am so proud that this week we have launched a fantastic collection of 16 new resources created specifically for fundraisers in small charities.
The new resources are open access meaning all fundraisers can make the most of the information included in the resources, which we put together in collaboration with our expert partners and colleagues.
Some of the topics include how to choose a CRM, managing your workload, career progression, how to work with designers, filmmakers and photographers, how to secure a Charity of the Year partnership, innovation for small charities, finding your fundraising tribe – and lots more.
We have published in-depth guides, infographics, templates, articles, top tips and more – all to help fundraisers with their personal and professional development. Check out our small charity hub to see the full list of new content.
Next week more than 1,500 people will take part in Fundraising Convention – I’m super excited to meet lots of fundraisers, exhibitors, sponsors and volunteers. Delegates will be joining us in person or virtually and it’s sure to be a fantastic event. If you couldn’t make it but want to see what people are saying, you can follow #CIOFFC on social media, and we’ll be publishing stories and insight from the event over the coming weeks too.
The National Fundraising Awards also take place next week. The judging panel and I had an incredibly hard time whittling down the entries to create the shortlists and picking the winners. The high standard of the fundraising that was demonstrated in the entries is testament to the incredible and committed work fundraisers are doing throughout the UK.
Looking ahead to later in the year, we have two conferences coming up, both of which now have the call for papers open.
In November the Chartered Institute’s Health Conference will take place in Birmingham, and the Legacy and In Memory Conference will take place in London.
Perhaps you have an idea to share, some research findings to discuss, a campaign that others can learn from or can show how you have grown income in your charity?
We want to hear your ideas and we’re looking for varied formats to provide multiple ways of sharing and understanding, including sessions, panel debates, workshops and more.
The deadline to submit your idea for the Health Conference is Monday 17 June, and for the Legacy and In Memory Conference the deadline is Monday 15 July.
And I can’t let June go by without mentioning our amazing volunteers, as earlier in the month it was Volunteers’ Week. Our volunteers support their fundraising peers in many different ways, through the groups, events, conferences and even Fundraising Convention. I’d like to say a huge thank you to all our volunteers for helping the fundraising sector be the best it possibly can.
I look forward to seeing lots of fundraisers next week at Fundraising Convention and the National Fundraising Awards, do come and say hello if you see me there.
Take care,
Katie.
