The MPHPL Summer Reading Challenge Officially Begins Monday

Complete the challenge and return your Summer Reading Challenge card by August 5 to receive a new book!

  • This year's challenge runs Monday, June 3 through Monday, August 5.
  • Download a challenge card online or pick one up at any MPHPL service desk.
  • All ages can take part, and participation is fun and easy.
  • Adult participants must be MPHPL?cardholders.
  • Complete the five squares marked with a beach ball and show your card at a service desk for a small prize.
  • Prize redemption begins Monday, June 10.

  • Donut Hole Decorating - Anytime: 10 a.m.-noon or 3-5 p.m.
  • Crafts & Stories - Anytime: 10 a.m.-noon or 3-5 p.m.
  • Games - Anytime: 10 a.m.-noon or 3-5 p.m.
  • Jeanie B! Interactive musical experience?- seating is very limited?for the 11 a.m.-noon show; families are encouraged to?reserve seats for the?4-5 p.m.?show.?
  • Registration for Jeanie B! is required.
  • Information regarding show ticket redemption will be sent via email to registrants.

Join us Monday, June 10, 5:30-6:30 p.m. for?Greenhouse Storytime at the?Mishawaka Education Foundation Community Greenhouse!

  • MPHPL has partnered with the Mishawaka Parks and Recreation Department to make this special storytime event possible.
  • The MEF Greenhouse is at the corner of Broadway and Marion Street, across from Battell Community Center.
  • After our staff reads garden-themed books, you and your family can pick fresh veggies and/or herbs from the greenhouse garden!

  • Registration is not required for this event.
  • Please note if inclement weather occurs, the event will be canceled.

Mr. Jim’s Magical Outdoor Adventure will keep your entire family entertained!

  • The?hourlong indoor magic show about the outdoors?will take place?Thursday, June 27.
  • Choose to attend the 11 a.m.-noon performance at the Harris Branch or the 2-3 p.m. performance at the downtown Mishawaka Library.
  • Adult caregivers must directly supervise participants 9 years of age and younger; caregivers must remain on the premises for participants 10-11 years of age.

  • Feel free to bring family and/or friends?but know that you will compete against them; there will be no teams during this trivia!
