MCD Implements Equatorial Guinea's First-ever HPV Vaccination Campaign

Girls receive the HPV vaccine at their school in the Baney Health District of Equatorial Guinea in May 2024.

The country's first-ever HPV vaccination campaign launched?last month on Bioko Island with more than 750 girls aged 9-13 from more than 15 schools across more than 20 communities in the Baney Health District receiving the vaccine!

Efforts from MCD Global Health’s Cervical Cancer Screening and Treatment (CCST) project, Chevron, World Health Organization, UNICEF, and respective partners that support Equatorial Guinea’s Ministry of Health and Social Welfare are making a future with no cervical cancer a reality in Equatorial Guinea!

Reid Plimpton,?MCD’s Technology and Digital Health Initiatives program manager, helps deliver telehealth equipment to?private non-medical institutions (PNMIs) throughout Maine as part of?a project funded through the Office of MaineCare Services, Maine Department of Health and Human Services, with funding from Section 9817 of the American Rescue Plan to improve and expand home and community-based services.
