You miss every open door of opportunity that you chose to close (you miss every shot you don’t take). This is the place to take life into your hands, take charge of your future. Don’t be a chicken and wait for others to make the first move. Don’t just passively admire people from afar, reach out. • So....I've been asked a few times about my career and long term plans, and in case you're curious here's a post about that. I generally want to have a career in social impact working for an organization that aligns with my values. The nonprofit space isn't perfect but it's definitely a place where I can find an organization that aligns with my social impact values. There's a lot of great organizations and roles that would be cool to have one day. • I've talked to many people about how much I love LinkedIn and most people I know shudder for the reasons discussed in this article. I won't lie and say I haven't been a victim of the LinkedIn toxicity culture, especially in the activist LinkedIn space. I am super duper aware of it, and it's why I aspire to create a network, community, and safe space, that counters the toxicity and allows us to all be our true selves all on beautiful journeys of life ??
