This week I attended CANSEC, Canada’s largest defense and security conference. It was great to see a strong Ukrainian delegation from government and industry in Canada here discussing opportunities to work together. You can read more here .
UCC is very excited to welcome new members from the growing Ukrainian Canadian community in Newfoundland and Labrador. В?та?мо!?
Festival season has started again, we see a community festival taking place nearly every weekend across the country and the UCC will be doing our best to promote and publicize. Thank you to everyone who’s volunteering and supporting these many events.??
Finally, we’ve launched our National Impact Campaign. Thank you to everyone who’s made a contribution already to support our advocacy work. Please help us reach your friends and family who may not have yet had a chance to learn about the UCC.?

The first UCC Branch in Newfoundland and Labrador

UCC National Impact Campaign
Did you know the Ukrainian Canadian Congress (UCC) was the only ethnocultural community organization recognized as one of the Top 50 influencing Canada's foreign policy by Hill Times' annual ranking? Our goal is to raise $25,000 by June 21st. We are asking for non-tax receipted gifts of $25 or more, and with the support of our many friends we know we can make it!

Ukrainian Language Education Conference: NUEC Unveils the Program

Scheduled for June 15 this conference will bring together experts and practitioners in the field of Ukrainian language instruction, both in-person and online, to share insights, best practices, and innovative strategies. The conference features a diverse array of sessions such as Pedagogical Strategies for Bilingual Children, Effective Teaching in Mixed-Age Elementary Classes and Project-Based Learning in Saturday Schools for Language Development aiming others. Participants can now register and choose their sessions online.
Public Inquiry into Foreign Interference launches Public Consultation Process??
The Public Inquiry into Foreign Interference in Federal Electoral Processes and Democratic Institutions has launched a Public Consultation process.??
Guidelines for making submissions and a list of questions is available on the Public Inquiry’s website.??
Commissioner Marie-Josee Hogue stated, “The Commission welcomes contributions from all members of the public on their experiences, observations, and ideas on the matter of foreign interference in Canada’s federal electoral processes and democratic institutions.”??

Through multiple events, Ms. Matviichuk will be raising awareness to the plight of the thousands of Ukrainian children stolen by Russia, the impact of the war on women and children, and her ongoing work in cataloguing human rights abuses and war crimes.
