NEW DHCG RESEARCH ON ACCESS & ADHERENCE, AI, and DHC SUMMIT INVITE, 9/28 @ NOVO NORDISK
This month we are considering the role of digital transformation and innovation in access and adherence.?Along with this snapshot of key insights, you can use the links below to watch videos and review key takeaways.
With Healthline Media 's?Sarah Clark?we took a look at the latest patient insights based recent consumer research.?She explained:?"when we ask [patients] what's important to them when it comes to discount offering services, ease of use is paramount. People living with chronic conditions are already balancing enough, so introducing a brand new regimen into their already complicated lives can be overwhelming which can possibly contribute to those low participation rates."
EVERSANA INTOUCH 's?Patrick Beers?provided a perspective on the innovations in the omnichannel approach.?"We're seeing success, building this in a more stepwise approach and supporting that in a similar process leveraging our experience that we've had as a digital powerhouse within the HCP and patient setting. Some companies are really stepping up in this area. Others are looking into it and will be fast followers."
OptimizeRx 's?Liz Gentry?offered insights on how innovations in HCP workflow need to match HCP pain points.?"Doctors want more information around patient affordability. They want information around prior authorization process they want more information about is my patient eligible for this program. 62% of surveyed physicians don't consistently enroll patients in assistance programs. The top reason cited was difficulty in keeping up with the various programs. So it's not just a gap in information. It's also overwhelming."
We also held a panel discussion with led by?Cathy DuRei?(Rumbly Health) with?Kimberly Golynskiy, Director, Patient Support Services, Neurocrine Biosciences;?Ashley Pippin, Director, Novartis Global Biome; and?Lauren Sacks, Director, Omni-Channel Marketing (Nurtec ODT), Pfizer. The purpose of the panel was to identify challenges, and the tools to solve those challenges, currently affecting both patient access and adherence.??You can access a quick-read look at the key takeaways from that conversation here.
Additional Access and Adherence Features
The Impact of Point of Care Marketing on Medication Adherence?-?Via PatientPoint?
Patients can’t be expected to stay on therapy if they don’t receive enough information around why it’s been prescribed. And, according to a recent survey by PatientPoint and OnePoll, more than half of American consumers say they want to receive more detailed information from their HCP about treatment/medication for their condition. A proven strategy to address the gap in patient awareness regarding the importance of medication adherence is to extend brand messaging into the doctor’s office.??
