June 2022 Community Newsletter

It's great to be out and about?walking value streams, learning,?teaching and?coaching and sharing face to face. I've walked and mapped a whole host of value streams but last week was a first - we were asked to help assess the applicability of lean thinking and practice to the maintenance of shopping centres.

I've never applied lean to "bogs and bins" before (their term, not ours!) It's actually much more than that too. You can read my thoughts on this frontier in our?blog.?

The visit highlighted a couple of things. How important it is to get?across lean fundamentals in a simple, clear way. Why we need to understand how lean fundamentals, problem solving, performance and improvement management and?team working fit together.?We received excellent feedback on our teach poster method and did some reflection on what we've included/not included and the logic of it.?

As promised and planned, we've added more materials to our Lean Learning Journey platform this month. We hope it's becoming the place to find the best lean learning materials on the web.

We hope to see you online for our new Employee Involvement webinar at the end of July. More information below. In the meantime, enjoy the summer!

Best?wishes,

Dave Brunt
