Jumping off the Urgency Treadmill

Jumping off the Urgency Treadmill

Often people share with me their frustration around not having enough time and a lack of clarity in what to tackle next.

OVERWHELM, NOT ENOUGH TIME and LACK OF CLARITY?…indicate you are placing more importance on the?urgency of today?over building a substantial business in time.

Don’t be under any illusion that this?“hard work” strategy is building a business asset;?it isn’t.

At some point, we all end up on?“THE URGENCY TREADMILL”.

?At a certain point in our business growth, most of us get this?SURGING TIDAL WAVE?of “stuff” coming at us.

The?‘to do’ list gets longer, we?work more,?and whilst we may make a bit more money – or even a lot more, we are most likely?working more hours chasing money.

Business?growth stalls,?we’re overwhelmed and the?freedom we signed up for seems increasingly out of reach.?By purely chasing today’s money you are?sending yourself into a spin?and sacrificing efforts to build a?significant business.

Tony Robbin says…

We overestimate what we can do in a month and underestimate what we?can do in a year.”

?

By getting?stuck in the month to month?with?no real plan, you load yourself with urgent “to-dos” and have no breathing space to focus on growing the business over time.

You MUST do both.

So now you are thinking,?OMG now I have to do all this PLUS more.

……no, you don’t.

?Once you have a plan with?clear daily priorities, you can focus on the urgent and long-term growth of the business. You will stop doing a ton of “stuff” (technical word!) that you will either?delegate or delete, freeing you to grow your agency.

At the?Recruitment Garage, our goal is to help you scale and grow your recruitment business and there is a book by?Chuck Blakeman?“Making Money Is Killing Your Business” ?that echoes our philosophy on the best way to do that.

He perfectly?illustrates how to stop being a slave to your business?and?how to get your business working for you.

?I’ve read a ton of business books;?I love them.?This book is one of the?most practical?and?easy-to-use?guides to building a great business that I’ve read.

I’m not talking about creating a business plan that will?sit on your shelf collecting dust. Nope…?follow the game plan?in this book and you will come to the closing pages with a succinct and clear path to?creating a “Stage 7”?business.

AKA is a significant asset you can keep or sell.

?Creating a Business that SERVES YOU!?That’s what we want!

?I’d love to hear what you think of the book and if you want to take this strategy to a whole new level be sure to reach out and?I can help you.

I see this all the time in my discussions around EB. Constant slavery to the urgent means that it’s hard to get the important stuff done
