Jump in With Both Feet! Commitment.

Jump in With Both Feet! Commitment.

To enjoy ultimate success in your sales and business role, as the saying goes, “you can’t approach it half assed.”

As I indicated in Chapter 1 of my first book “The Reid Method Sales Mastery Blueprint”, to realize true success, you must jump in with both feet, giving it your full commitment while maintaining a constant growth mindset. #linkedin

Here are 5 commitment tips to help you dominate instead of competing for 2020 and beyond!

  • Commit to Action; learn more about the value characteristics and proposition of your products, services and your company. Too often sales reps and team members focus heavily on product features and benefits but know very little about their company philosophy or story. Going forward, it won't be business as usual! -- .....What you and your company stands for is even more vital going forward! What have you learned about yourself, your company and the people representing your business? Many of us will see the true signs of how companies pivoted and stepped up to help their employees and communities. What action's have you or your company taken to reach-out if any? If you can't answer these questions positively then it's time to commit to some serious personal assessment about your future and the company you represent.
  • Commit to Constant personal development; to sharpen your mind and to remain ahead of your well-informed clientele, and the ever-evolving competition. How will competition change now after businesses start to reopen? One thing is for sure, given physical distancing rules and adaptation, sales reps and businesses won't get much more that one chance to make a great 1st impression or a chance at doing business. The days of shopping around from store to store with physical distancing rules won't be practical when safety and security is forefront is everyone's mind. What skills have you polished up on, learned during this last few weeks?
  • Commit to primarily focus on serving others and exceeding expectations;instead of financial gain… People will see right through you if you’re only in it for yourself. They will quickly figure out your body language and tonality are not congruent with your statements. Authenticity has always been a big deal not just in sales and business success, but in life. Serves others first and they will want to do business with you over and over!
  • Commit to be a solution’s provider, instead of a salesperson. What do I mean? You’re the professional, you should be the one making the suggestions and crafting various convenient, value laden recommendations after you’ve listened to your clients. Customers today are shopping for the salesperson and consultant that’s engaging, not an order taker, not the negotiator who gives away the farm to get a deal, but the solutions provider who offers alternatives and is not afraid to make recommendations!
  • Commit to delivering unbelievable experiences; I’ve never been impressed by 5-star reviews that talk about how great the deal was, I’m more moved by reviews describing the impact on one’s life. It’s not only what you’ve done for them but how you make them feel that leaves a lasting impression. Focus on making your customers feel like they're winners in every aspect of the experience. Empathy Must be a part of your sales process and business practice going forward. Practice those good listening skills about what clients truly want and deliver unbelievable experiences!
  • Commit to adding more value; than anyone –else! What is value? Value is perceived and is not a one size fits all concept. There’s value in how you engage, communicate, listen, offer alternative ideas and create solutions. It’s also important to understand the value proposition in your company’s philosophy, so you can articulate the full package of benefits backing you and the experience ahead for you customers. Do you know what you or your companies value proposition is? If not that's your homework for the next day or two. You must be able to articulate how you and your company adds value to improves your clients circumstances today and beyond. Leave your comments below on how you define both individually and organizationally your value proposition to your clients.

This approach builds lasting loyalty and a constant pipeline of clients and referrals. The result, a successful sales career, a successful business, not just a sales job or a daily grind.

Share in the comments below your favorite point and tell us what commitment action you will commit to starting today!

And as always — Be Intentional. Be Thoughtful. Add Value to others. Be Safe!
