Positive moves this month
Fleet News has published an article stating that the DfT has confirmed the Labour Manifesto plans to revert the ban on the sale of new petrol and diesel cars to 2030 after the previous government pushed the original date out to 2035. However, there's currently no confirmation around light commercial vehicles.
Great British Energy, the new publicly-owned energy company, has announced plans to collaborate with the Crown Estate to help build more off-shore and near-shore wind farms, reports the BBC.
Paris aiming for a greener games! Another article from the BBC, this time on the environmental impact of the Paris Olympic 2024 games. The French capital is hosting the celebration of sport for the first time in 100 years and plans to cut the carbon footprint by 50% compared to London 2012. Impressive work!
Hyundai refreshes IONIQ 5 range
Leading EV producer Hyundai has revealed updates to its popular IONIQ 5 electric car. There are some cosmetic changes on both the outside and inside of the vehicle as well as significant updates to the trim levels available to customers.
