July was an incredibly busy month for San Diego, and likely a very good month for local brews.
As thousands of visitors flooded San Diego for Pride, Comic-Con and the All-Star Game, they likely had a sample of San Diego's impressive selection of craft beer.
Stone Brewing had 4.94 percent of the nearly 1,000 taps in TapHunter's database of 229 locations in the San Diego area— the largest share we've reported so far.
Based on our analysis of data from the app TapHunter, much of the Tap Ten remained the same from last month, with Karl Strauss, and Firestone Walker jumping back into the top ten list. Sierra Nevada and Fall Brewing took a hit and fell out of the top ten, but only by a hair— Fall ranked 11th.
As noted from the Union-Tribune's beer guru Peter Rowe, if you counted Green Flash and Alpine Beer Company as one brewery, as they are owned by the same company, they would rank second with 3.09 percent, under Stone.
