July Reflections: Insights on Impermanence and True Creation

July Reflections: Insights on Impermanence and True Creation

The month of July brought many insights for me. It has been a month of rejuvenation, challenges, and creation.

At the beginning of July, I visited my university friend in a southern Mediterranean country which I combined with a client deep dive experience in a beautiful location. Bringing together my work and spending quality time with my friend connecting and swimming in the sea, felt like a dream coming true. However, one of the biggest lessons of my life was about to unfold.

During my stay, I crashed my friend's car. Physically, I escaped with minor scars, but emotionally, the impact was significant. The airbags deployed, and it was a terrifying experience. My initial guilt stemmed from making an ego-driven decision to go swimming every day, regardless of the circumstances. That day, my friend couldn't take me and my client, ?but I was determined to swim despite an impending storm.

I convinced myself that I was an independent woman who could handle anything, without even carrying a working phone. I believed I was protected and forgot to check in with my body and my surroundings. In my arrogance, I missed a turn and crashed into a stationary car next to a small hotel.?

The car and hotel belonged to Ivan, a businessman who lost his business and wealth a decade ago, and a year later lost his wife in a car accident. Now, he dedicates his life to spiritual growth, embracing impermanence, raising his six children, and creating his business from a place of acceptance. The kindness and support I received from him and others were overwhelming.? Ivan and I spoke for hours about life, creation, and the impermanence of everything.

My key insights from this experience are profound:

  1. Impermanence is Inevitable: Everything in life is temporary. Attaching to specific outcomes leads to suffering.
  2. Letting Go of Control: Attempting to control outcomes, whether for safety or success, leads to contraction. True creation comes from accepting impermanence and connecting with our hearts.
  3. Spiritual Humility: My “adult” tantrum of "I need to go swimming every day" taught me humility. The outcome of how the lesson arrived I might perceive as wrong but it may be exactly what I needed.
  4. Energy Impact: My strong energy influenced my friend to lend me her car, despite the inconvenience it caused her.?
  5. Balance:?Spirituality must be balanced with practicality.
  6. Unconditional Love: Despite the hassle, my friend and I are closer than ever. I felt deeply loved and supported by her, by Ivan, and by everyone in his hotel.?

There are still significant consequences both financial and emotional to this experience. I am very happy my client was not with me in the car as she chose a quiet reflection time. The lessons of this day are invaluable.?

Summary of Lessons:

  1. Mind, Intuition, and Heart: Keep them connected to avoid imbalance.
  2. Acceptance: Embrace life’s impermanence without guilt or blame.
  3. Action from Peace: After acceptance, act from a place of inner peace. Connect with your heart, listen to your intuition, and engage your mind.
  4. Remember Your Worth: Recognize how loved you are.
  5. Cherish Life: Love and cherish yourself, those around you, and every precious experience.

This month has been a journey of learning and growth, reminding me of the delicate balance between control and surrender, and the beauty of true creation from the heart.
