Welcome to the July edition of Vikela’s monthly technology & business development newsletter.

The past month has been another busy one for us with great opportunities for industry engagement with our users and customers. As well as focusing on brand development and future marketing strategies.

Industry Engagement Day with the Commando Helicopter force.

One of the major highlights of July for us was?attending an exceptional industry engagement day organised by Daniel Weil and the London Tech Bridge team at RNAS Yeovilton. We were able to engage with the Commando Helicopter force and other defence and security industry stakeholders which was incredibly insightful.

It was a fantastic opportunity for users and customers to get hands on with our revolutionary armour products. They were impressed with our products reduced weight and focus on user comfort and female fit.

We had great product feedback and lots of potential future applications of our products were discussed! ??

This day wouldn’t have been possible without Daniel Weil and London Tech Bridge so a Huge thanks again for organising.

Investment Round Closed July 2024

We were delighted to announce our recent Investment round was closed in July. Securing this funding from Two Magnolias Venture Capital, ScaleX? Investments and other angel investors was a huge milestone for Vikela.

These partnerships will allow Vikela to scale up production of our innovative product, develop our new manufacturing facility and begin to make a meaningful impact in protecting those at risk.

We are excited to start this next chapter of Vikela with a group of experienced investors alongside us. Together we will create a safer and more sustainable future.???

Other News in July

Tech Nation Prize

It was great this week to start to engage with the companies who contributed to the Tech Nation Prize pot. We had our first meeting with Joe Hills from JCDecaux to discuss advertising opportunities and strategy. We also had an incredible day working with some of the Founders Makers team Katie Briefel and Charlie Holman looking brand image and target market strategy in London. ?

Factory Renovations

With our investment round closing we have been able to start renovations on our new office and manufacturing facility. Our team has been hard at work getting started on our office lots of cleaning and some fresh coats of paint.

Placement students

We were excited to have two new members join the Vikela Team, Evin and Dylan Cole. ? They will be participating in an 8-week summer internship focused on designing for 3D printing manufacturing and structure optimisation. ????

We met Evin and Dylan during Generation Innovation last year where their teams took part to come up with new product applications for our 3D printing manufacturing process. We were delighted to be able to offer them this summer internship opportunity. A big thank you to Catalyst and the team at Generation Innovation, we love to see the enthusiasm and drive from the program participants and hope to be able to offer more opportunities in the future.
