Digit<all> CODE Awards
July brings with it warmer weather (well it should do), the promise of the summer break and results from the inaugural Code Awards! It has been an absolute privilege to have seen the many submissions for CODE Awards 2024.
We were ?amazed at the quality of the submissions, the supporting images and videos and most of all, the dedication and innovation of young people. ?With so many outstanding entries the judges had a huge challenge in selecting winners and commended entries. ?It won’t be long until the trophies, certificates and Amazon voucher will be on their way to schools across the UK. ?We’d like to thank Grace, Kiara and Manisha, our CODE Award ambassadors, for leading and supporting this initiative. ?We go again next year from November 2024 ready for CODE Awards 2025 with some new categories and we would love to see the young people you look after, supported through this programme.

Tetris
This isn’t the first time I’ve mentioned the Guardian’s Monday puzzles, they’re a great way to keep you and your students thinking logically and laterally, or failing that having you bang your head against the wall in frustration. ?The puzzle setters must be keen readers of this newsletter, the Tetris themed “hack” from last month in particular, ?as this week’s puzzle is also Tetris themed. Great fun as always!
Reach for the Stars Summer Camp
Our annual micro:bit space-themed summer camp is getting ready to launch. ?The camp is free for Year 5 pupils in and around Swindon who can get active, coding small programmable devices.?To find out more visit: https://www.digitall.charity/summerschool?mc_cid=359ab28546&mc_eid=122a993fde

Through the Good Exchange, donations can be made to our call for more Chromebooks so our volunteers can run even more workshops with schools and communities. ?Through the wonderful match funding option, donations will be doubled. ?If you feel you can help, please donate here: https://app.thegoodexchange.com/project/20476/digit-all/chromebooks-laptops-to-support-digital-education-for-young-people?mc_cid=359ab28546&mc_eid=122a993fde
