Stellantis invest £100million in Ellesmere Port to become first manufacturing site dedicated to battery electric LCV?
Stellantis announced a £100million investment in Vauxhall’s Ellesmere Port manufacturing plant to transform the site for a new era in electric vehicle manufacturing.?Ellesmere Port will become the first Stellantis plant to produce a solely battery-electric model, in both commercial and passenger versions, by the end of next year, for Vauxhall, Opel, Peugeot and Citro?n brands and for both domestic and export markets. This dedication to battery electric vehicles will go towards achieving the UK Government’s decision to stop sales of pure petrol and diesel engined vehicles from 2030.

Ford and MS-RT to create a new £4 million facility at Ford Dagenham
Ford and MS-RT, the Ford Pro commercial vehicles conversion partner, is to establish a new £4 million vehicle conversion facility at Ford Dagenham.?The new investment provides the opportunity for MS-RT to expand its business while enabling easier access to Ford technical expertise in Dagenham and at the close-by Ford Britain Dunton Campus, the Ford Commercial Vehicles business group’s home in Europe. The collaboration will accelerate the development of current and future MS-RT vehicles for discerning customers both in the UK and international markets.

The EAV ‘Lightweight Inner-City Solution’ (LINCS) provides uniquely versatile light cargo and passenger transport in urban locations reducing the need for legacy commercial vehicles in towns and cities by more than 50%.

Ford and Venari Group today announced they have signed a memorandum of understanding for a new alliance between the two businesses on emergency vehicles.
The Ford Venari Alliance brings together Ford, the UK market leader in commercial vehicles and Venari, the UK’s largest emergency service vehicle provider, in plans to manufacture the all-new, lightweight front-line ambulance – unveiled by Ford and Venari earlier this year.?Based on the Ford Transit chassis cab and developed under “Project Siren”, the lightweight ambulance was designed with input from industry experts and front-line medical teams.
The Ford Venari lightweight ambulance is intended to be produced at a new facility in Ford Dagenham from 2022, utilising an existing, non-production location that will be refreshed to accommodate its manufacturing requirements.

Vauxhall is the UK’s best-selling electric Light Commercial Vehicle (e-LCV) manufacturer, according to the latest sales and registrations figures published today by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).
Vauxhall enjoyed a successful first half of 2021 in the LCV sector, with e-LCV sales topping 1,487.
