Welcome to July's newsletter
I hope a good degree of clarity has returned to your business plans for the remainder of the year.
Having built up an extensive network within the industry, with leaders being more accessible over the past two or so months, I have taken the opportunity to speak with a number of them to understand how they view the landscape, opportunities and threats.
One of the positives of working within building products & construction is there are a myriad of markets that businesses serve and so these conversations have yielded a rich array of opinions. Please see to the right, snapshots of some of these conversations from late May through July, together with my own reflections on how the industry is shaping and adapted to this unique situation we have been thrust into.
5 minutes with Steve Corcoran, Executive Board member of Danish plant business GSV
Having worked within tool & plant for some 20+ years, I was extremely keen to hold a conversation with Steve Corcoran. Having taken Speedy Hire from £100m to £400m as their CEO between 2005 and 2014, he is clearly an interesting person to listen to on the changing face of the industry. 5 minutes with Amy Hubbard, CMO within construction
With a steep rise of interest in digital innovation within the construction industry, I was fascinated to hear more from someone immersed in the technologies uptake within the industry.
Having trained and served within building services and quantity surveying in the earlier part of her career, for the past two years Amy Hubbard has been working with a construction technology start-up as their CMO and now provides consultancy on marketing and communications strategy and content creation to the industry.
