Professional Notary Headquarters is moving their office after 11 years. I thought I would share a few tips for moving technology and electronics.?
- Backup Your Data: Before you pack any electronic devices, make sure to back up important data to an external hard drive or cloud storage. This ensures that your files are safe in case any devices get damaged during the move.
- Organize and Label Cables: Use cable ties or zip ties to bundle cords and cables. Label each bundle with the corresponding device name or room it belongs to. This will make it easier to set up your electronics in your new home without confusion.
- Use Original Packaging: If possible, pack your electronics in their original boxes with the original padding and inserts. This packaging is designed to protect the devices during transportation. If you no longer have the original packaging, use bubble wrap and sturdy boxes to secure your items.
- Take Photos of Setups: Before disassembling your electronic setups, take photos of the connections and cable arrangements. These photos will serve as a reference when you reassemble your devices, saving you time and frustration in setting everything up correctly in your new home. Another gamechanger for me was using an electronic Notary Journal instead of paper copies. If you haven't made the leap to using an Electronic journal yet, check out the ones on our business resources page.
We are excited about our move. Stay tuned for more details! We would love for you to become a part of our new HQ if you are in the Greater Rochester Area.?Stay cool and safe this summer! Enjoy!?
Thank you for making it to the bottom of The Inkwell.?
May your inkwell never run dry –?
