July Highlights
July has been a transformative month for us, as we proudly launched our new brand, Beicio Cymru. This rebranding marks a fresh chapter for us (formerly known as Welsh Cycling), complete with a new look, a revitalised strategy for 2024 - 2030, and even a brand-new website. Our goal is to foster a more inclusive and dynamic cycling community across Wales, and we're excited to embark on this journey with our athletes, coaches, and supporters. Here's a look back at some of the incredible achievements and events that have defined this month for Beicio Cymru.
National Junior Road Championships Success
The National Junior Road Championships saw stellar performances from our young athletes. In the Men's category, Dylan Sage clinched the top spot, followed by Fin Tarling in second place. On the Women's side, Carys Lloyd secured a commendable third place. Additionally, Fin Tarling showcased his skills in the road race, finishing third.
Launch of Roadeeze
"Roadeeze," a new initiative by Sarah Murray, a North Wales Breeze Champion was launched! This programme aims to encourage more women to take up cycling and enjoy the benefits of this fantastic sport, through a series of coaching sessions and final race night in August.
Team GB Selection for Paris 2024
14 athletes from Wales were selected for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, making up an impressive 27% of the Team GB cycling squad. This selection is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our athletes, coaches, and volunteers and demonstrates the talent Wales has to offer?
Youth Circuit National Championships
Finlay Burns from Maindy Flyers CC showcased his talent by securing a brilliant second place in the U14 boys race - a real star to watch for the future.
Tour de France?
We cheered on Geraint Thomas and Stevie Williams as they competed in the prestigious Tour de France, representing Beicio Cymru on the world stage.

New Coaching Courses
New coaching courses, including UK Disability Training offered for free, along with various 2024 courses in disciplines such as road, track, and off-road cycling are now available to book on our website.
European Junior and Under-23 Track Championships
Carys Lloyd won the Madison with Cat Ferguson, claimed second in the Team Pursuit, and triumphed in the Omnium. Rhian Edmunds won bronze in the Sprint and gold in the Team Sprint. Will Salter took first in the Omnium and third in the Team Pursuit, while Sam Fisher secured third in the Points Race and Team Pursuit. Fin Tarling also placed third in the Team Pursuit.
Beicio Cymru Rebranding and Olympic Send-Off Festival
We proudly unveiled our new brand and strategy, transitioning to Beicio Cymru. To celebrate, we hosted an Olympic Team GB send-off festival, which saw over 100 children engaging in various cycling activities.
Royal Welsh Show
At the Royal Welsh Show, we engaged with the community, with over 450 children participating in our cycling activities. It was a fantastic opportunity to inspire the next generation of cyclists.
