July | From Surviving to Growing

July | From Surviving to Growing

For the past two-plus years many of us, heck, much of the world, have been operating in survival mode. Parents have had to navigate new child schedules and routines. Business leaders are trying to balance financial pressures with new workplace and workforce demands. And many individuals have started reprioritizing what matters to them. Each situation breeds its own stressors and in many cases has steered us towards operating in ‘fear mode.’ We’ve been heads down, focused on just producing results and keeping the trains of life and business running.?

In so many cases, the behaviors mentioned above have been necessary to try and create some stability in an incredibly unstable time. Many would say those unstable times are still very much around us: an impending recession, political divide, and the looming effects of COVID. It’s all very real. But what if we could shift - even in small doses - from a heads-down approach to looking up and embracing growth??

What if we took a moment to look up? ?

As humans, we operate in ‘our modes’ so much because of habits we have created - some over a lifetime; some over just the past two years. Breaking those habits of being you can be as freeing as they are rewarding.?

The brain can and does change. We survived because we scanned for danger. To build the other circuits for joy, happiness, and peace takes a conscious effort - like learning to play an instrument. It is simple, but not easy. Don’t give up.?

This month, take the opportunity to move beyond the transactions or the ‘’doing’” and bring breath and feeling into each moment. Doing so allows us to move from survival to growth. It allows us to pick our heads up, look around and see a new tomorrow.?

As always, we’re here to help.

Tools to Help

Breaking the Habit of Being Me.

After going through a lot of trauma or stress, our limbic system crashes down and goes into a state of constant triggering in which even the simplest of situations can cause an emotional avalanche to protect oneself. In this conversation, CrisMarie shares how she’s learning to break old habits, create new neural pathways and focus more on transformational relationships vs. just transactional ones. Listen now.?

Speak Up. ?

You matter. And your voice needs to be heard. This toolkit is focused on helping women overcome the habit of silence. This program is about helping you feel settled and confident even in the midst of conflict. This program is about helping you identify what matters, really matters to you, and giving it a voice. This program is about helping you find and develop a path for speaking up and being heard both at work and at home. Plus, you can access it at your own pace.?

How We’re Helping Others Thrive! Right Now

We’ve been doing a lot of work with clients on building cultures of feedback. As individuals, there’s a natural pull between our desire for growth and learning and our need to feel loved and accepted. Feedback sits at the center of this tension between these two needs. Whether it’s through implementing 360 reviews or leveraging Predictive Index, or team offsites, we’re helping teams break down silos, communicate more effectively, and grow both individually and collectively.?

  • We’re helping both Treehouse and TextNow not only deliver feedback well but also learn how to receive it in the most productive and meaningful ways.??
  • We partnered with ACG Biologics to replicate the coaching and consulting we’d done at the Executive Level at the site-specific level to strengthen their broader team.?
  • We worked with Karat to help align their teams as a mission-driven organization that is leading the charge around representation in tech.?
